Raising stars.

It has been a long, long, long time since I last wrote.
About two years or so. When I was still working in the northern part of Malaysia.

And many things has changed since then.
I have grown up, to be a more matured person. A working adult now, in a stable job.
In one of the jobs which I have seen myself in.
This job teaches me a lot. On people, on culture, on friendship, buildings, constructions etc etc.
Always on my toes. My brain can never rest till I get back home.

But, I miss my old job. I really do.

One of the perks of being an adult, relationship.
I really hope, crossing my fingers that the one I am seeing now is the ONE for my life. I really, really do hope and am praying for it.

Of course, relationships aren't easy. When you have to juggle with your job, your family, your PMSes, you also have to deal with the guy. Nevertheless,it's love and it's worth fighting for.

Just to drop by and scribble a few notes here, nothing much.

Till I see you guys again.

Confused soul.

What’s going on with me.

I am in utter confusion. Just because.

I don’t understand what it is. I don’t want to get confused and be confused.

I want to be clear, I don’t want to have this war between my heart and my brain. It’s really confusing!

Sometimes, it feels awesome like no other. Sometimes, it’s all about pain. Not pain ‘pain’, but the heartache.

It is like being in the deepest sh*t and in the same time, being at the sea side under a shady tree, being all so serene and blessed with the tranquility it offers.

Sigh. Messed up, aren’t I?

Adding to that, it involves the families as well. And the beliefs. Oh dear, what am I to do??

Sigh.

Deepavali 2012 and the trip to Genting.

It is now almost one month after Deepavali/Diwali is over. Only now, I get the time to post on my celebration here.

To be honest, I feel this years’ Diwali is not like my previous years’ celebration. We had a very simple celebration, but yet one of the most memorable one we have ever had.

This year, all the three of us (my brothers and I) have our own income. We spent our money to help our parents. I bought my Dad two shirts (one for his birthday which was on the 31 of October and another one for Diwali), I paid for my mum’s saree. I didn’t have the time to buy my brothers and dogs something. In fact, I didn’t even have the time to shop for clothes for myself! Its’ because I was so much occupied with my production at work.

My dad managed to get a goat to be cooked for the guests during the open house. Yes, a goat. We were asked if we wanted the goats’ head and blood. My mum said a BIG no. My father’s friend helped him to skin the goat so that all we have to do is to chop the mutton into edible sizes. That alone, took all of us the whole day to handle. It was really tiring(plus backache!) for me because on the day before, My mum and I went to Bukit Jalil, Masjid Jamek and Brickfields to get some last minutes stuff. And we took only public transports to cover all the three areas.

On the day, we went to temple in the morning. I was rather pissed because the tailor lady hadn’t sewn my saree blouse! Luckily, I have a new suit of Punjabi Suit which my mum bought for me from India at 2009. So, I wore that to temple. I liked that suit so much eventhough it is a simple one. Back home, we all had our breakfast. Thosai and mutton. After that, cooking session started. The whole cooking thing ended at 4.30pm, just when my father’s friends arrived. They were very helpful, the helped us with the tables. By the way, my father had two tents fixed to cater the guests.

Since that up to 12am at night, we had guests non stop coming. I even had one of my BFF to attend, Nailil and her boyfriend Ed. They brought along their friend as well. For the dinner, I wore my favourite peach dress.

Of course, liquors were served as well. Together with me, two girls from my neighbourhood and our mums joined us to a bottle of white wine. My mum didn’t have her glass, she don’t drink. So, all of us had a small portion of wine, before we girls went over to join the guys( our brothers and their friends) with the fire crackers. It was so much fun! I haven’t had the chance to play for a long, long time.

The whole event ended at about 2 something after my mum and I cleared all the mess and arranged the things as they were before. And the next day, we all woke up nearly 10am.

Truly an enjoyable celebration. What makes it even more fun? My dad brought us to Genting! That, gonna be in the next post :)

What I look for in You?

I went back home last weekend, spending time with my dearest family member. Feeling rejuvenated now :)

The power of family love, so divine.

One of our many family talk revolves about me. That I am already 23, going to be 24. That I have to have someone already. That I ought to be ready and prepared for the next stage of life.

That is, the time has come for me to find someone.

I told my mum, I leave it entirely to her and my Dad. They know better I feel. But Mum, she told me that I have to do my part as well. I have to get to know a few guys on my own. I was surprised, but then I came to a realization that I am now grown up and my Mum is being very liberal and open to me. I am happy that she said that, but in the same time I am confused.

Confused as in where can I find for a guy who has the qualities I seek for in a guy?

Almost every girls wants to get married to a Surya,

a Karthi,

a Madhavan

or a Dhanush.

But not all the guys are good looking either. Some has the look but no personality. Some has the personality but goes NULL when it comes to the looks department. Some guys we know we can live a good, secured life while we know we just can’t tolerate some.

Those who scored themselves a gorgeous looking hunk who is smart and is economically secured (work, financial, car, house etc) are really VERY VERY VERY lucky. They just have to make do with some tiny flaws which can be easily overlooked despite the qualities their guy posses.

Coming to the point, what do I look for in a guy as my partner for eternity?

Every girls wants to feel secured when being with him. She wants someone trustworthy, who can guide her in the worldly life and also in the spiritual life. He must be pleasant looking, as she will be spending her entire life with him.You want something pleasant to look at every morning, don’t you? He has to have the good genes, as she wants to have a good looking and smart progeny. At least in my case, I want my husband to be someone who is good looking as I lack in that department. He, has to have a stable job with a handsome income to support our lifestyle. Of course, I will be working as well, but he has to be the main breadwinner. After all, that’s the biggest pride being a man, right?

I want my man to be pious as well, we are nobody without God and I want my life to be blessed always. I want him to be able to guide me.

Besides that, he has to love my parents as how he loves his parents. He must also allow me to do my part of responsibilities to my family. I don’t want him to be the typical Indian guy who has the mentality of girls after getting married should not be responsible for their family.

I want a responsible guy, who takes care of me well, who will do what it takes in his power to keep me happy. I am not someone with high maintenance or difficult to deal with. If he can understand me and if he loves me truly, he’ll know how to keep me happy and contended. I don’t ask much, I want to be loved like how my mum loves me and I want to feel protected and secured like how my dad protects me.

He must be able to love me for who I am, and mustn’t request for more. He shouldn’t be snobbish or pick out on me especially when I am angry. Obviously, I am nowhere perfect, he must know that I get heated easily and with right words and timing, I cool down just in no time.

He must be able to compliment me, mentally and emotionally to create the equilibrium between us. I know everyone wants someone who is funny, caring, sweet, romantic, handsome, macho, etc etc etc. But the most important thing of all, he has to complete me as a whole. He has to fit into me as a missing jigsaw puzzle piece.

There are other qualities which I seek for in a guy, but the ones I mentioned above is the crucial ones.

No matter how hard we try or hope or even dream, only the God knows we deserve whom. Lets live and enjoy the life while we can and appreciate whatever the God gives us.

Wait for the boy that would do anything to be your everything.

Tranquility

Do you believe that certain people can bring you bad luck?

I don’t really believe in that, but things happened and I am still wondering about it.

I slipped and fell a few days after I got to know him.

And I fell again, with sprained ankle and skinned knees after talking with him over the phone.

But, after I ended things with him, I felt at peace. Things got better. I eventually finished and completed a few things.

Nevertheless, I’m glad that things are good now.

Thank God.

Yesterday, I felt really good. Literally. I joined a class, just for fun but now I want to be committed to it. It’s a passion that I never get to pursue before this. Eventhough it’s an introductory class, I felt happy and good about it. I learnt more about my self, and I want to improve myself to be better in it.

Hopefully. :)

Is it affection or love?

Shania hitched her ride to the Penang Times Square on Rapid 303 bus. She looked very much tired and exhausted in her white baby-tee and her 3/4 jeans, as she was right after a tuition class. With her Paris sling bag, she made her way to the building. She aimed straight to the book fair by BookXcess fair at the very first floor of the building. She was utterly stunned to see the amount of book they had there for sale. She browsed through the table, laden with all kind of book; fiction, non-fiction, self-help, young adults etc etc.

Smitten with the choices of books, she went down the escalator, this time making a bee line straight to the Maybank ATM at the entrance of the building. The ATM lounge was pretty small with 3 ATM machines, one cash/cheque deposit machine and a table with four Maybank staffs (agents?) seated. She made some mental calculation while waiting for her turn to use the machine.

Considering herself as a book junkie, she decided to withdraw RM100 and not more than that. She wanted to get herself some decent books to read, but yet she didn't want to overspend on the books either. She’s quite broke at the moment, as her pay was already in on the second week of the month, due to the festive season. Hence, she lost track of her expenditure and money flow. Typical, but yet she’s trying to make her ends meet. After all, she just started her new job like 3 months back. Fresh at her work place, she already had a few long term plans running in her mind, so she didn’t want to touch her savings.

After waiting for like 5 minutes for her turn, she finally got to use the machine. She just can’t wait to go and hunt for her books that immediately after she withdrew her money, she turned her way out of the lounge. Somehow, she was cornered by one of the Maybank staff who were seating there. She didn’t want to, but as a sign of respect she sat down on the chair provided. That man who made her to sit ranted about some saving plans. Shania was not interested at first. The plan, as the guy explained, caught her attention somehow and she listened. After listening to the explanation for about 10 or 15 minutes, the guy made her to fill up her particulars in a form, saying that an agreement will be sent to her address and all the following process will be proceeded upon the acceptance of the terms and conditions of the plan. He, than handed her a brochure with his name and number on it. She took it, and immediately vacated her seats, heading straight to the book fair.

She felt heavenly, spending almost an hour there, looking through the books and deciding which to buy and which not. She grabbed a few books which she felt is quite interesting and walked around until one of their staffs came and offered to her a basket for her to load her books in. She even bought a rubber duck kit for her puppies to play with. At the end of the day, she hauled about 9 books and she spent about RM70 on them. She beamed as the cashier handed her her bag of books.Satisfied with her purchase, she went down the escalator, only to notice that there’s a sale on bags in one of the shops there. As she was in need of a new bag, she bought one, thinking that it was a bargain to get a decent bag (not branded, though) at RM30.

Tired, but happy, she walked out of the building to the bus stop, waiting for the bus. She waited nearly 20 minutes for the bus. About 30 minutes later, she was already in her room, checking and admiring her books one by one. Contended with her purchases, she took her phone to check the time. She had a missed call and a message. Both from an unknown the number. She opened her inbox, to find this message;

‘'Hi, Shania. I am Edward meet in maybank jus nw. If u free cn i meet u today’’

Shania was surprised, but she replied anyway, saying;

‘’ Hi, I am back at home already. Is there anything?’’

But before she can even send out the message,Edward  sent in another message.

‘’ If nt nvmind shania.thx’’

After her message was sent, she received a reply. Prompt one.

‘’Cn i meet u at dato keramat. bcoz i wil b going to my uncle hse thr’’

Shania was seriously surprised reading that message. Obviously, Edward had taken her details off the form she filled up in Times Square.

“ You mean today? Is that has got anything to do with the saving plan?’’

“ Ya itz ok fr u’’

‘’ Obviously no. It’s late already. If it is really urgent, you can e-mail it to me. I will get it from there’’.

She waited for Edward’s reply. But he did not reply, so she gave up waiting. She felt weird about Edward, but she brushed her feelings aside. She had some other better things to do than to think of some random guy.

Later that night, about 10.50pm, she received an SMS. From Edward. Confused, Shania opened her inbox, wondering how hardworking and desperate one could be, looking for customers until late at night.

“ Hi sory fr late reply. busy a bit. actually no problem. i jus wan to knw if gt any other frendz that work at XX company.nvmind if u free we meet at morning. anyway thx’’

‘’ I’m sorry, but I am quite tied up with my work up to Tuesday.’’  As much as possible, Shania tried to avoid meeting that guy. She just didn’t like her approach.

‘’ Dat means tuesday mrng i cn meet u. any way right nw wt project u r doin’’

Shania didn’t bother to reply, as it was already after 11pm.

‘’ ok it seems u r busy. gd nite’’

After about 15 minutes.

‘’ Happy independence day..bla..bla..bla….’’

Shania got really pissed with the guy that she switched off her phone. She even thought of making a police report if Edward continue to text her.

Hello peeps! This is my attempt to write a short story. Do comment whether you like the story or not.

Tuesday, 28 August 2012

Just a thought.

I was listening to my playlist on my way to work today.

And then the song ‘Idhazhin Oru Oram’ played.

My adrenalin get pumped and I get goose bumps every time I listen to the song. The song is just plain good. The magic in the lyrics, the music, the singer’s voice and the meaning of the song itself.

The song is so full of emotion. Damn, I can’t find the right word to describe!

It feels heaven listening to it. And no, I am not overly doing it or exaggerating about the song. Listen to it, watch the video clip and then you decide.

Watch it here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Clyv72yEoXI

Lyrics:

Idhazhin, Oru Oram  sirithai anbe
Nijamaai, idhu podhum siripai anbe
En naadiyai slirka vaithaai
En iravellaam velicham thandhaai
En aan-garvam marandhindru,
un munne paniya vaithaai

Sollu nee I love you
Nethaan en kurinjip poo
En kaadhal endrum true
will make sure you never feel blue

Oh ellaam maranthu un pinnaal varuven
Nee sammadhithaal

Andha nodiyayai-thaan

Oh penne en kanne

En aan-garvam marandhindru,

Oh penne en kanne

en uyirukkul peyarai vaithaai (2)
Sollu nee I love you
Nethaan en kurinjip poo
En kaadhal endrum true
will make sure you'll never feel blue(2)

English translation:

Beauty, you smiled with the corner of your lips
Truly, That’s enough for me, please smile
You shocked my pulses
You gave brightness to my nights
You made me forget my ego and
made me bow in front of you.
Tell me, I love you
You are my kurinji flower
My love is forever true – and
will make sure you never feel blue
I will forget everything and follow you
if u accept,
I will even give you the Moon
I walked at a distance
from your shadow
And will draw that moment
as a poem
Oh girl, my dear girl,
my sweet honey, come before me
You've put your name in my soul
You shocked my pulses
You gave brightness to my nights
You made me forget my ego and
made me bow in front of you.
Oh girl, my dear girl,
my sweet honey, come before me
You've put your name in my soul
Tell me, I love you
You are my kurinji flower
My love is forever true – and
will make sure you never feel blue

Secretly, I had this tiny secret fairytale-y wish inside me when I listened to the song today. How nice it would be if my can dedicate the song to me on my wedding reception, maybe with a few dance step by him towards the end of the song? Sighh..if only that happens, I will be the happiest bride in the whole world!!

Till then, have a good day!

The Fine Wine

This post is meant for adults only. LOL.

I mean, this post is going to be on wine, which means, it is not for underage kids. ;)

I enjoy drinking wine. Mind you, only half a glass.

Image from Google.

What I mean by enjoying wine is that I sip wine to show some respect and I don’t say no to wine all the time. I am not a drunkard, so please, okay?

And I don’t get drunk and was never.

Wine has a lot of health benefits, and it’s vegetarian. LOL again. I mean, it’s made of fruit and since fruit is considered as vegetarian, so… *ignore me,please*

I learnt the wine making process in my undergraduate years. Complicated process? Yes, it is. As you have to get the right parts to get the fine wine.

Image from Wikipedia.

Wine is also a symbol of elegance. When people say they drink wine, you have the good kind of impression. But when people say they drink beer, you get some ‘other’ impression. Right or wrong, you decide. This is my personal opinion, not because I drink wine, but because I feel so.

There is also an art called Wine Tasting. Some people even work as Sommelier, or wine taster. According to my lecturer who taught us Food Technology, a sommelier earns really well. Imagine, all you have to do is to drink, drink and drink wine all day long. Sounds good? I have no comments.

There is also a proper way to decant, or to pour wine out from its bottle. It seems to add more flavor to the wine. Read: http://defology.blogspot.com/2012/06/w-i-n-e.html

Health benefits: A lot.

…

I hate the feeling of being lonely.

Maybe it’s just because I am sick right now, that I want to be with my family at home.

I know this feeling is just temporary, but it is really a depressing feeling.

It’s as though you are trapped in a glass box, and your world revolves between the 6 sides of the box. You can see the world around you and what’s going on, but either you don’t have the courage to lift your hand out of the box to step out of it or others just ignore you in your glass box.

Everyone experiences loneliness, but at different level of severity.

It is an unique feeling on its own, allowing you to know yourself better.

I know I will be okay real soon, maybe in 5 minutes time right after I post this.

But I just wish, for the someone to come and lift me off my glass box, forever..

P/S: This is not an emo post :P Just expressing ;)

Thank you, my fellow workmates!

Today is my last day at my current job.

I worked here for a month and half and now, I am leaving them for a better future.
Yes, I have scored myself a better job. I shall blog about it real soon.

My current job isn't a glamorous one,but yet it taught me a lot. I can proudly say that I have the experience which some of my friends don't have.

Some may question me, do I regret being on and off of jobs and I can say no, I do not regret doing so.
All my jobs which I had done, gave me something and taught me something which is essential for me in my life.

I will write about my job experiences soon.

Till then~

P/S: Wondering if I have any surprises waiting for me tomorrow ;)

Never ever give up.

Lately, so many things happened in my life.
And all of it was a challenge for me to accept. They are difficult, yes, but eventually I managed to go through it,
and all the patience I had throughout the journey made me stand where am I today.

Also, I must say, my parents especially helped me a lot to walk through my path. If it's not them, then I don't know if I can walk through the path where I stand right now.

I will keep on holding to what my father told me once before my sports day at school: Never Ever Give Up.

A prayers answered.

Things are finally getting better I guess.
I am now waiting for the official letter/e-mail before I announce it.

Nevertheless, I see this as a stepping stone for me to emerge in life, for me to slap those who badmouths me and my family, for me to improve my life status and hence for me to set the standard higher than others to out-beat me.

After all, this is the fruit of my endless prayers, patience and effort.

People say, opportunity does not knock twice on your door. This time, a GOLDEN opportunity knocked on my door, without me realizing the arrival,so I grabbed it and will go on with it.

This might be what am I destined to do. The best for me, my family and my future.

The best, however is yet to come for me and I am sure to get it no matter what!

Proud of it.

Get a grip!

Really!

I am now staying in this neighbourhood where almost 80% of the population are Chinese people who mind their own business and rarely gets out of their home to say hello to their neighbour. Really.

Not annoying and not bothering. The only concern is that we have no one to chat about during our boring days at home. We survived, though.

We do have one two Malay families staying at the opposite row. And also a Christian family. Besides, we also do have an Indian family staying opposite of us, ad another family staying far end of the street.

I’ll get things straight to the point. No beating around the bush.

If you were to have your own house, surely you will know how to manage and decorate it, right? I mean you don’t have to stare and observe at people’s house to be inspired or to copy their idea in home deco, do you?

Or maybe stand by your gate, trying your best to listen to what song are we playing at home? Or maybe be inspired or copy more likely our sense of fashion?

Okay, it could be that you are just being naive and want to blend in the trend and society more, so you want to be inspired. Okay. No big deal.

And that biggie talk. What is it about? You don’t have to boast, really. I know what could be the salary range for the lowest rank in the field of my father’s job. Obviously my dad have enlightened the whole family about it. Come on, you are speaking of it to my mother who knew about it much better than you do, and not only that, you are giving the wrong information proudly. What for?

And the stares you gave when you couldn’t deliver the job you’ve promised to do well? Even when we didn’t question you anything about it? Doesn’t that makes you to be in the faulty place? Duh!

You observe almost every single thing we do at home. Don’t we have any privacy? Grrrr. Sometimes, you even make yourselves to be inspired by use IMMEDIATELY! WTH? Get a life, can you??

Then suddenly things were okay back between us. Especially when we have our new neighbour move in next to our house, whom you claim to be your best friend. Okay, fine. But it is necessary for you to boast about it? I mean, I call all my puppies Baby, and so do all the pet owner in the world. If you don’t, what can I do about it?

Then when the neighbour move in, you were just so close with them. Okay, as you guys knew each other before. No harm done. But sometimes, when there are youngsters around their same age group, they tend to mingle about real fast. That is what happened between me and the new neighbour’s daughter. We have common interest and our maturity level are about the same. So, OBVIOUSLY we are interested to be in each other’s company. A lot to be discussed. Girls.

That, triggers the precursor again. I can very well see the envy/dislike/hatred/jealousy whatever rising in you guys. Come on, I did not snatch away your friendship, I am making new friends and we just happen to mingle on well. If you have a problem with that, then deal with it! I did not do any wrong, and I have no obligation towards you. Everyone has their own choice, and if your best friend family choose to befriend with me, then deal with it. Okay?

Don’t be hawk-like. Your evil eye can give us so much of trouble. We already have enough problems to deal with.

Pest!

P/S: This post is a personal post and not meant to hurt anybody. If I happen to, I apologize that I do not have the intention to hurt you. Besides, this is my blog and I have all the rights to write what I want here.

The much awaited.

Okay, we will be leaving to Penang tomorrow night.
Attend the family prayers. The next day, off to Sungai Petani.
The wedding!

My dear childhood friend’s wedding. She’s 25 this year and getting married to the man she loves. It is going to be a grand wedding, and I am excited to attend it.

I love Indian weddings, they are colorful and just amazing. And I love to dress up and to see people dress up too :)

I love to see the bride being so pretty, and the excitement on her face when the Thali is finally knotted around her neck. That, will be the most precious moment in every single Indian bride’s life.

*Sigh, when is my turn*

Mine is definitely going to be like the two picture above..a beautiful, traditional and full of culture South Indian Wedding. :)
Time to pack my saree~
