My very first NYX haul

Ever since I knew the existence of Sephora, I’ve always wanted to pay a visit there because of Urban Decay.

Then, I got to know that NYX are brought to Malaysia, and it’s at Sephora. That made me want to visit Sephora even more!

So, on my previous trip back home, I decided to pay Sephora KLCC a visit. I was so excited to swatch the Naked Pallette and the Blockbuster pallette. The Naked pallete was amazing but the Blockbuster pallete was not up to my expectation.

After all that swatching and stuff, I searched for NYX counter. I must say, I liked it! I was on a hunt for this particular coral-ish lip colour and I happened to find it there! NYX offers quite a number of colours which suits all skin tone. Besides, they are quite cheap and affordable.

After trying out the products there, I decided to take up the stick blush and lip cream. After a while, one of their MUA, Nurul offered to help me with some make up on. I am of course very glad! She helped me to put on everyday-to work make up. She made me remove whatever make up I had on my face (only my moisturizer, compact powder, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick). Nurul then cleaned, toned and moisturized my face using some Clinelle product if I am not mistaken. While having my face cleansed, she gave me some tips on make up. She also told me to try modeling as according to her, I have the features required to be one. *Shy*

Prior to that, she applied Sephora foundation powder, followed by Urban Decay Single eyeshadow to define my eyes, Givenchy mascara to lift my lashes (after complementing my lashes. Thanks Nurul!), cream blusher from NYX as base and also NYX powder blusher to set. For lips, I applied NY lipbalm followed by NYX lip cream in Antwerp.

I really loved the outcome, as I looked so fresh without looking as though I had much make up on. Before leaving, Nurul sprayed some setting spray so that my make up remains fresh throughout the day.

Finally, after picking up that stick blush and the lip cream, I headed off to the cashier to pay. I signed up to be a member and I’ve gotten myself a Sephora White Card. Not only that, I received free gifts from NYX as well. A lip gloss and a drawstring laced back. How nice!

My haul that day was not only at Sephora but also The Body Shop! I bought myself a body mist. I just fell in love with the scent.

Next? Pictures!

Etude House Mini Haul

Yesterday, Dylla and I went to Queensbay Mall to look for some stuffs. As usual, we will browse through shops and end up commenting on the sales girls and the sky high prices. We tried our luck at eating sushi at Sushi King. Not bad, we can actually swallow them down, In fact, they were quite delicious. We have already decided on what to eat on the next trip to Sushi King. After that, had our dinner at McDonalds. We eat ALOT, yes.

Before satisfying our taste buds, we went to Etude House to see if they have any promotions going on for their face masks. Our luck, they are having a promotion right now, up to the 25th of December!

I quite liked their face mask. They don’t break me out nor irritate my skin. They make my skin to feel smoother and brighter. My personal favourite will be the Lemon mask.

Anyway, back to the haul, the masks were sold at rm15 for 5 mask. Dylla took 2, the Royal Jelly one and the Lemon mask. I took the Pearl Extract,Pomegranate and Aloe mask.

Of course,we didn’t just stop at the mask shelf. We schemed through their other product, and me, I headed to the nail polish shelf. I saw that they are having some kind of promotion. Don’t really remember the prices but the SA told me that I’ll get 10% off for one item, 15% if I buy two and 25% off if I buy 3 items. We both were broke ATM, so we said no.

Moving to the next shelf, we saw that they are selling different types of polishes at RM5/bottle. Obviously, I had to try them, right? Besides, there was this peachy polish which I have been hunting for god knows how long! The SA tried the color on my nails, I asked for Dylla’s opinion and yes, I grabbed it! Then, I saw this mint colored polish. The same thing happened and I grabbed that as well. Then the SA, knowing my nail polish fetish kind of thing (is there such thing??), she showed to me this purple glittery polish which is equally lovely! Sighing out, I told her that I’ll take that as well. She wanted to show me another color and I said no! I can’t afford to buy more than what I have already picked. God, such an impulse buyer, I am!

The SA was very friendly to us, and we liked her so much. We liked her even more when she gave us a generous number of free gifts! We both got a sample-sized toner+moisturizer kit and Dylla got a few BB cream samples. I didn’t get/take the BB cream as the SA told me that they don’t have the right tone for me. To compensate that, she gave me another toner+moisturizer kit. So generous of her!

Let the picture do it’s talking next.

Avon Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow in Mocha Goddess

This is the very first mineral make up stuff i have ever bought. As you all know, the ravings about mineral makeups is that it is not harmful to the skin that even the sensitive skin beauties can use them without any worries.

p20121016-142729

I found this by accident, as I don’t intend to purchase them at the first place.(Refer here: http://theumbrellagurl.blogspot.com/2012/10/an-unexpected-haul-form-avon.html)

This range comes in loose powder form, that is, you have to be careful to apply it. Fortunately, Avon had its container designed as such so that you don’t have to worry so much about spillage and wastage of the product.

p20121016-142834

Avon Smooth Mineral in Mocha Goddess comes in a sturdy transparent plastic container with a screw cap lid. I love that the lid is a screw cap lid as it offers a lot of protection. The container also comes with a nice brush, placed halfway dipping into the product. So, you don’t need a separate brush for the shadow, and you don’t have to worry about how much product to pick on a brush as the brush picks up a decent amount of shadow on it. Besides, the brush is soft enough to act as a blending brush.

p20121016-142905

p20121016-143025

However, since the product comes in loose form, I get fallouts a lot. I have to apply loose powder on my cheeks generously so that I can brush off the excess shadow.

p20121016-142756

Mocha Goddess is a warm, shimmery brown with a hint of copper in it. Very subtle for day way, and the color is buildable for more intensity. The shadow lone can be used to create gradient on the eyelid, by placing a generous amount of shadow very close to the lash line and blending the color upwards to soften the color.

p20121016-143225

Swatch (2 swipes) : L- with base; R- without base

I am not sure about the exact price though, but I can assure you that it is very affordable. The product comes in an amount of 2.3g, and I personally think it will last me for quite sometimes as I prefer it sheer.

It really blends into my skin, offering a slight color to my lids. It’s like the no make up look with a slight shimmering effect (read: not glittery).

Mocha Goddess lasts pretty long, about4-5 hours before it starts fading out without primer. I can say that the color can last up to eight hours on the lid with a good base.

Overall, I love the product, seeing that its’ affordable, great color, smoothness of application and does not irritate the eye.

The only concern is on the fallouts, but as I mentioned above, it can be fixed with loose powder.

An unexpected haul form Avon

Yesterday, I went down to the KFC nearby my workplace to satisfy my humongous appetite I happened to have yesterday. I managed to tame my hunger with an X-Meal and one large cheezy wedges-my all-time favorite form KFC.

The result? A full, happy tummy which gave me a happy grin.

Since I am very full, I decided to walk to the Avon branch here which is just a few stores away from the KFC to look for their Glimmerstick in Starry Night Blue if I am not mistaken about the name of the shade. It’s a very pretty dark blue with sparkles. I bought mine in 2010 and I lost my glimmerstick after just using them a few times, How sad, right? :(

Too bad, they don’t have the one i asked for, they have some new eyeliners though. Some Chrome eyeliner I think. I didn’t pay much attention to the name of the eyeliner.

After flipping through their latest catalogue, I happened to see that they are selling some stuff at a reduced rate. All of the items are new and being cuprous,I grabbed a pack.

At a price of RM12.90, these are what I’ve got:

Paul Frank Lip Smacker Liquid Lip Gloss in Julius’ Strawberry Banana - Review

Phew! What a long title!

So, yea. It’s going to be another review on another lip product.

This product, retailing at about RM16.90 (if I am not mistaken) was a free gift with my Playboy Play It Lovely perfume (review coming soon!).

The packaging is so cute and fits into any purse. Very much travel friendly. Made in U.S.A, the slim tube holds 2.8ml of product. It comes with a doe-feet applicator, so application is a breeze.

The product gives the oh-so-yummy smell. It reminds me of some chewing gum I used to chew on when I was a kid. The smell gives me the taste of the chewing gum. LOL! Its’ sweet and pleasant. However, the smell disappears a few minutes after application. No complains here, as I don’t fancy sweet smelling product on my lips as I tend to lick them off. The product does not taste sweet at all, as compared to the smell, so a BIG okay for me.

One of the things I really adore about this lip gloss is that it is not (read: NOT) sticky at all! But it delivers its job really well, the gloss is just the same as any other lip gloss. Staying power is moderate, about 2 hours after application but I think it will wear off after any drinks or food consumption.

Will I re-purchase?

I don’t think I will. I like its’ consistency and the smell, but I know I can get other lip gloss at a cheaper price.

My 1st Daiso Haul

p20120906-205744

My first ever Daiso haul.

Daiso is so famous in the blogging world. Be it for its make up stuff to its self care product up to its cooking utensils.

And why it is so famous?

It’s an all RM5 item in the shop originated from Japan.

Daiso is similar to our local RM1.99 shop.

Though sounds cheap, not all the items are cheap. As in, I can get a soap dish from Jusco at RM3.90 but the ones in Daiso is priced at RM5. So, expensive or not, you decide.

Nevertheless, I went to Daiso for the first time at Queensbay,Penang with my friend Dylla Fadzil and I am quite happy that there’s a lot of things to choose from. And most of the things are really, really cute. I didn’t have the need to buy the note book as in the picture, but I couldn’t resist getting one. The floral design is just too cute.

And the purple water bottle? I wanted something nice and convenient to use as my water bottle, and I didn’t want to use the normal carbonated drink bottle so that I will always want to carry a bottle of water around. (I don’t drink water so much, I doubt if my daily water intake reaches 1.0L. That bad!) It’s cute, convenient and the most important thing of all, I do bring a bottle full of water around in my bag. :D

Definitely. more hauls to come from Daiso.

P/S: This is a backdated post. So far, I have purchased paper trays, a waste paper basket and also a mud pack which was recommended by Dylla.

Till then~
