FOTD – Deejay on the floor

Last week, I had to spend the nights at work. Due to our production to launch our studio. I was the person in charge of the multimedia. Not the deejay by the way :P The title sounds cool, that’s why the I put them as such.

Everyone in the production will be having some make ups on, so I decided to put up some make up as well. Not that I don’t make up on other days, but I had taken some extra effort to put some extra make up on my face for the event. On normal days, I go bare faced or eyeliner + lipstick one day, lipstick and very subtle blusher on another day. I don’t do my eye shadows to work normally. I keep it for special occasions.

Since I have scored several likes on my profile picture in Facebook, I thought of doing a breakdown on what I had on my face. (though I know the picture looks nice because of the lighting :P)

boria

I applied my compact powder all over my face to create a smooth canvas. I used Pixy compact powder. Cheap and good.

On my lids, I had my Avon Mineral Eye Shadow in Mocha Goddess (Review: here)and a black eye liner pencil on. I skipped mascara though (I forgot to bring mine actually =.="). I first applied the eyeliner, smudged it, applied the eye shadow with a light hand and applied the eyeliner again at the base of my lash line, to make my lashes look thick as though I applied mascara.

Cheeks, I left them bare.

On my lips, I had a nude lipstick. I used my Revlon Blushing Nude lipstick (Review : here)

That’s all. Nothing more and nothing less.

Hope you’ll like my do.

Till then~

Flowers of Life

Today morning, we went to the Spastic Centre for rehearsals. It was tiring for me, since I am now in the process of recovering from a sudden fever+vomit attack yesterday.

It was fun, twirling around with 6 meters of clothes in a sequence of dance steps. It was pretty difficult to work with the kids, but somehow we managed to choreograph the whole dance sequence which is now need to be perfected with practices.

At the end of the show, when everyone is getting ready for the next class, I stood near to the kids, talking craps and giving some motivational words of encouragement to them. They did pretty well today, and they have to know it. Suddenly, one of them, Shaun crawled near to us, beckoning me to come close to him. I went near him. He held my hand and said something. I couldn’t here him, so I asked him to repeat.

He said, “ Kakak, I suka awak,” while looking at me and smiling.

I was taken aback, but I said “ Saya suka you jugak”.

He smiled happily. I felt so good. It was a blessing, I felt.

Shaun, is a child with Cerebral Palsy disorder. At the beginning of the project, my researcher told that all he did was to play dead or not to do anything. He wouldn’t move or say anything, what more to look at others.

But today, he progressed really well and he can move around, talk to people and be loving to people. It’s a really good progress, and we are all happy for him.

The feelings, it is just so difficult for me to express with mere words. It’s a special feelings, which you can only know when you experience them.

And I thank the GOD for giving me a chance to experience the wonderful feeling.

A Visit to Shan’s Home

There are actually many other things I intend to post, but I want to post about this first. The rest I will do slowly ;)

Yesterday, my supervisor and I went to Shan’s Home at Butterworth,Penang for our project work. We want to come up with a project, involving the kids at the home. Most of the kids are traumatized kids,so dealing with them is not easy.

They behave like the loud kids you can normally find at the last and second last classes in school, but they are intelligent. Not bad kids, just that they came from a troubled family or something bad happened to them.

The kids ranged between 8 years old kid up to 16 years old teenagers. They know their values, but mischievous, naughty and stubborn at times.

I was touched, when the moment my SV stepped into the home, one of the girls there, Shankari aged 8 years old ran out and hugged her.Everyone there was like,’ Auntie, why you did not come for a long time?’. They missed my supervisor a lot. They introduced themselves to me, and started addressing me as akka.

During group activity, they wanted me to be a part of their group. So sweet of them! It was quite hard to manage them in a group, but nevertheless, I had fun and I get to do some coloring as well, my childhood passion :)

Before the activities begins, my SV and I happened to see one of the girls’ wrist who had some cut/scratch marks on her hand. My SV called her aside and spoke to her. Later on our way back home, I learnt that the girl, aged only 10 years old this year had attempted suicide by cutting herself! I was shocked! She is so young and yet she tried to do something BIG. Not only that, previously she attempted to jump from the top floor of the home (the home is a 3-storey terrace house). Then I came to know that she was a rape victim when she was 6. The worst part? Raped by her own uncle!! How cruel can that man be!! He’s an animal! Nevertheless, the girl is getting better, and slowly she is inching out of her trauma. May God bless her and punish her animal uncle.

Pictures.
